Hey, kitty, kitty!

Okay... I seriously don't get this cats climbing as high as possible thing.
This little meowing ginger furball but became the celebrity of today: This little kitten decided to reach the highest of peaks in the XV. district, meaning it went up high on a tree as it could.

Yep...Those flashing eyes belong to the rescued kitten, about
10m up on the tree. Sometimes you really need to have a mountain climber in the group, don't you?

So, our hero got up on the ladder and tried to grab the kitten...
Guess what: regular cat-behavior... Wanna save me? BETTER WORK FOR IT, MAN. It kept escaping from the catcher pole,
so our man needed one swift movement to finally capture the scared cat.

Obviously the catching pole did not look too comfortable for the terrified cat.

Anyway: note that using this method to save cats is the safest way possible to rescue an animal in a situation like this.

The cat suffered zero injuries, and except a little shock, it was taken off the tree safe and sound.

It's safe to say that in the end the kitten did not only get rescued from a tree, but it could be rescued from loneliness aswell! This beautiful ginger kitten is now also up for adoption! It clearly enjoys the company of people: the commanding meows are incredibly cute.

I will upload the video of the rescue moments as soon as possible. Until then, Lil' Kitty sends its kisses to you!

Firemen and a beautiful pup...What more do you need?

Got the place, got the right people... I think I'm ready to move in.

This time we got a call in the night by a lady, saying that a dog got stuck between two iron elements of an electronical gate. Our poor hero, this lovely-looking husky did not quite understand the situation around him, so he kept waiting patiently.

Our guys were called on the spot, and as always, they arrived with a van full of equipment that was needed for a rescue mission like this.

Little did they know that no sort of power saw or handsaw was suitable for the mission, as they did not want to scare the dog to death or destroy the fence. Scratching their heads, our boys decided to leave this to the Firemen of Újpest, who arrived on the scene about 3 minutes after they were called.

 Upon arrival not one of them could contain themselves, so the puppy got a big dose of ear-scratches, belly-rubs, and a few pats on the back before the guys set up the machines to get him out.

As you can see on the second picture, they decided to cover the dog's back so that he does not get scared from all the machines and the noise around him, and while a League member and a fireman was holding him, others set up a hydraulic spreader cutter in order to pull the two elements of the gate apart.


It took them about five minutes to set things up, do the job and pack everything back together, a really impressive time interval, isn't it? Anyway, this is a kind of thank-you note for all the firemen who arrived on the spot and helped this stuck lil' doggy.

As to say thanks, some League members who were there at the moments of the rescue, went to say hi to the fire station, and brought T-shirts with the League logo along with them. Thanks again to the firefighters of Újpest for their quick response and their professional helping hands.

Today has been really exciting for the League. As you may not know just yet, the Pet Rescue League also has people working hard every day in Solt. (I have already mentioned the place in a previous post.)

So, the good news is:

These are not only pretty-looking things, but also quite useful: Many rescue missions are carried out alongside roads, and now cars will be more visible than ever.

No Boardom Here

Hello Fellow Pet Rescue League Supporters,

This week has been just like the rest of last month- very special.

Although I told the League Members not to make too good PR for Budapest among Boars, they do not seem to have heard the words of goodwill. Another boar, yet without a name (unlike her predecessor, Rugó) has been running along the borders of some kind of manufactory yard. Five people have been fighting for the life of Ms. Nameless, and it took our guys altogether 4,5 hours to rescue the reluctant animal.

Many gadgets had to be used during this adventurous rescue mission, as the stubborn animal started chewing on any kind of relay platform that the guys put into the 2 meter deep (!) hole. 

The boar was so hungry that she ate all the food the guys gave her, so the friendship between savior and lost animal was quick to come.

She even hurt the side of her face while chewing on all the equipment that was used to rescue her. Her mouth started bleeding a bit because of the nibbling, but our guys quickly stated that the injury was only peripheral.

Although she was trapped down there for quite some time- about two or three days, she seemed to be in a pretty good shape: some of our guys even had to sit back down in the van to avoid a less friendly encounter with her.

But the end of the story is all that counts: the boar is freely running somewhere in Pest county, and she will hopefully not come back for an encore rescue party.

That's all, folks! ....Or maybe not? This weekend, the Shelter in Illatos Street is hosting an adoption event!
If you only speak English but really wish to adopt a dog for Christmas (and obviously the rest of your life), make sure to come, I would be delighted if I had to translate for a foreign person or family that wants a new member in their homes.
